Although winter is over in just a few weeks, I've decided to do a winter tag. In my area, it's actually slightly warmer than normal.

All About Winter

1. Do you like the cold?
     Yes only because I don't tolerate heat well in summer.

2. Favorite Part About Winter?
     I've always liked a fresh coat of snow on the ground/ trees because it looks beautiful.

3. Favorite Winter Drink?
     Hot chocolate or tea

4. Do You Do Any Outdoor Activity's In The Winter?
     Not really. I've always wanted to learn how to ski. I like ice skating and even took lessons one winter - wish I could ice skate more.

5. Favorite Winter Scent?
     The crispness of a fireplace. I don't actually have a fireplace but there's a store down the street that always has a fire going to keep warm when people are outside of it.

6. Does It Snow Where You Live?
     Yep. My area had a blizzard a few weeks ago, part of winter storm Jonas. We also had a coating/couple inches not too long ago. When it comes to storms where I live, it's either hit or miss depending on the track of it.

7. Favorite Clothing Item In Winter?
     Just sweaters to keep warm.

8. Your Favorite Winter Memory?
     Don't really have one. When I do a play, rehearsals are in winter and they can be fun. I did like ice skating when I was a teen.

Snow Day! Sunday Funday

Since everybody's talking about the East Coast snow storm, I'm going to talk about it too. It's been given several names including: Jonas, snowmageddon, and snowpocalypse. I don't get why media and people in general name these storms (except for hurricanes). It's simply a blizzard. And guess what, the East Coast tends to get blizzards each year. Of course, that's mostly the New England area, but most of the East Coast is used to getting a good amount of snow as well. It's only big news since this just happens to be the first snow storm of the season and it decided to give us a lot of snow at once.

Philadelphia's official amount came in at 20.8", which is actually a lot for us. I also measured the amount in my yard this morning and it came in at a whopping 22". I happen to like the snow, as long as I don't have to go out in it. However, I don't like a lot of snow at one time. Each year, I really want one nice size snow storm, but not exceeding 3 or 4 inches. Since I do have to worry about family members who have to work during these things (it's what happens when you're in the medical field like my sister-in-law).

Seasons of Love

 

As everyone knows, there are four seasons: fall, winter, spring and summer. My favorite season is fall, but there are things that I like about all of the seasons. That's what today's A to Z Challenge post is all about.

Fall. I like when it starts to get cold, but not quite freezing yet. Basically, I love to wear hoodies and sweatpants - that might be a little strange, but that's me. And fall is also the perfect time to go apple picking and all that fun stuff.

 

 

Winter. I'm the person who actually likes snow, but not a whole lot of it. Each winter, I generally ask for one big snowstorm and then I'm done with it. I do like snow on the trees and such because it look so beautiful and picturesque. What I don't like about winter is ice and when snow starts to get dirty/messy.

This is one of my favorite pictures that I took from Jackson Hole, Wyoming. My dad and I went on vacation there to see his sister and nieces (my aunt and cousins), as well as Yellowstone National Park, in July 2011. This is from Grand Teton National Park and there was still snow on the mountains. Needless to say, they get a lot of snow.

 

 

 

 

Spring. I like the nicer temperatures before it starts getting too hot. And I also like when the leaves change colors - in my neighborhood, we get these beautiful white and pink trees in the spring. Spring also means allergy season, which I don't like, as I like all the nice flowers, but really can't stand to be around them.

 

             

       Tulips are one of my favorite flowers. And the pink leaves on the trees is magnificent.

                          

 

 

 

 

Summer. I actually don't care for summer that much. I don't tolerate the heat very well and that's all there is to it. What I do like about summer is going down the shore, of course, or the beach to most of you. Vacation is definitely a plus.
