Day 24 of the April A to Z Challenge
A Book Extravaganza - featuring classics and some of my favorite books
Classic: Great Expectations by Charles Dickens (I had to cheat for this, see what I did there?)
Synopsis:Humble, orphaned Pip is apprenticed to the dirty work of the forge but dares to dream of becoming a gentleman — and one day, under sudden and enigmatic circumstances, he finds himself in possession of "great expectations." In this gripping tale of crime and guilt, revenge and reward, the compelling characters include Magwitch, the fearful and fearsome convict; Estella, whose beauty is excelled only by her haughtiness; and the embittered Miss Havisham, an eccentric jilted bride.

Great Expectations is one of my favourite classics. Have you watched all the movies made based on it? I love the original so much, some of the modern takes on it make me angry. :D

I have never seen the movies, but I only read the book a couple years ago. I do agree, that sometimes modern versions of movies ruin the original. ~Meg
DeleteI read this, but I think I was too young at the time. I didn't enjoy it. Well, kind of...
